Call Me From the Grave, an original musical, chronicles the life of Robert Johnson, the influential bluesman who, legend has it, sold his soul to the devil in exchange for musical prowess. With performances from February 28-March 2, 2019, Call Me From the Grave was my first time choreographing an original musical. It was exciting to experience the process of developing a new musical. During the rehearsal process, the writers introduced songs weeks before the show opened. I loved creating a choreographic language inspired by blues and swing to portray the life of Robert Johnson.
