Gabrielle Niederhoffer is a theater choreographer, dancer, and producer based in New York City. She is passionate about storytelling through dance in tap and theater choreography.

Her recent choreographing credits include Next to Normal (Yale School of Drama), Cabaret (Yale Dramat), and Gypsy (Yale Drama Coalition), among others. 

Most recently, Gabrielle was Company Manager for the West Coast tour of Turn It Out with Tiler Peck & Friends. Gabrielle was Festival Manager for the inaugural Works & Process Underground Uptown Dance Festival at the Guggenheim Museum. She managed Battery Dance Festival, New York City’s longest-running free public dance festival, for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

At Yale, Gabrielle founded and co-curated DanceHaven: A Celebration of Vernacular Dance at the Yale Schwarzman Center in April 2023. She created the festival in collaboration tap dance legend Dormeshia. As Associate Producer of the Yale Dance Lab, Gabrielle served as lead researcher for the New Haven Dance History Project. Gabrielle has conducted extensive research on the appropriation of Black vernacular dance forms.

As a dancer, Gabrielle has performed at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Symphony Space, among other venues across the country. She began her training in New York City and has studied extensively under the mentorship of Caleb Teicher. She is an alumna of the School at Jacob’s Pillow Tap Professional Advancement Program under the leadership of Michelle Dorrance and Dormeshia. 

Gabrielle graduated cum laude from Yale University with a BA in American Studies.
